The Cuban is a new Restaurant and Lounge Bar that has opened up in The Oracle, Broadbeach. You can check out their Facebook page, here.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect, the music was at a good level, the lighting was excellent and the set out is practical and looks great. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor and a really sleek but comfortable environment. They have a strong colour theme of red, black, brown and wood.
I went in on a Wednesday night which isn’t a typically busy night. It is easy for a restaurant to seem cool when it is busy, however if a restaurant is cool and has a good atmosphere on a quieter night, you know it is good, going from this, The Cuban is definitely good!
Every dish on their Menu looks delicious, it was really hard choosing what to eat!
For the Entree I had Crispy Calamari served with lime aioli. It was incredible, the Calamari was not oily or greasy and it smelt delicious. The lime aioli complemented the Calamari extremely well and enhanced the flavours nicely.
As a main I had the Spiced Salmon marinated in citrus juices with herbed roast vegetables. Salmon is my favourite food and I have high expectations which is one of the reasons I ordered it, the dish did not disappoint! I like my salmon well done, it is usually cooked medium, because of the extra cooking time, my vegetables cam out cold. I tried them and the flavours were excellent and I was apologised to for the mistake in the cooking time. However it didn’t impact on my dining experience. The salmon on its own had a beautiful flavour and it melted in my mouth. It filled me up without being overfull and bloated. The spices on the salmon were perfect, they weren’t too hot.
I was dying to try the butterscotch profiteroles for dessert, but I was too full after dinner, so they are definitely on my list for next time! I had a really great night out, I would give them a 10 for service, the staff were extremely attentive and polite. I will definitely be back, trying different dishes each time!
If you’re on the Gold Coast I would definitely recommend dining at The Cuban!
What is your favourite Cuban restaurant?
Love Annie xoxo
Sounds delicious!! I actually haven’t been to many Cuban restaurants but there is a place in Chicago called Carnivale that has AMAZING Latin America cuisine. Love it! Isn’t That Charming.
